My name is Dmitriy and I am a 35-year old mineralogist, graduated at the Department of Geology of the Moscow State University. Now I am working at a postgraduate thesis on alkaline pegmatites of Khibiny massif. I began collecting minerals when I was thirteen and entered the Geological high school of the Moscow State University, although I already earlier carried "stones" home. Mineral specimens for me do not mean only beauty and scientific interest. First of all they are part of an intact world to which I return over and over again.
I have had the opportunity of working at many deposits spread on the territory of the former USSR, including Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Every year -and now it is already for twelve years on end- I carry out field works at the Khibiny alkaline massif, Kola Peninsula.
