I am a 47-year old chemical engineer and the senior member of the group that has created this site. I began collecting minerals 27 years ago, when, thanks to my increasing interest in chemistry and physics together with the mountaineering practise on the Alps, I discovered the bewitching mineral world. Minerals clearly evidence the behaviour of chemical elements in a phantasmagoric world of combinations, forms, and colours. Furthermore, they are the silent witnesses of our Earth's history and at the same time they remind us of the life shortness and the immense nature's capabilities.
Through the years I have visited many interesting mineral localities in Europe, Asia, Africa and America. Since 1999 I carry out with Dmitriy field works at Khibiny massif, Kola Peninsula. My particular fields of interest include: minerals of rare elements; mineralogy of alkaline rocks; regional mineralogy of the Alps and Alpine-type formations; mineralogy of manganese deposits.
