Here is our travel programme for 2005
We are planning two trips in the coming field season. The first one is to the Cola Peninsula .
The Cola Peninsula has a rather developed infrastructure. Routs on foot is planned from the town of Kirovsk. We can offer visiting mineral occurrences in mountains as well as running mines and quarries. The objects of the local trips are alkaline pegmatites with their various minerals.
Journey to the Kovdor is planned in the beginning of September. This journey will take about a week.
We offer two variants of accommodation:
Expensive variant : 1 person - 75$ per day ; 2 - 65$ for each person ; 3-4 - 60$ for each person ; 5 and more - 55$ for each person. In Kirovsk - accommodation in a comfortable hotel, in the mountains - in the camp of Save Service or in tents.
This variant includes all charges for food and local transport.
Inexpensive variant : 50$ per day for a person. Accommodation in the students campus near Kirovsk. In the mountains - in the camp of Save Service or in a tents. This variant also includes all charges for food and local transport. (We recommend!)
* Transport charges, connected with trip to Kovdor, are not included.
** Both variants include payment for license for collecting minerals on the territory of Cola Peninsula.
***The cost of license for taking out minerals is not included, because this question is still out of Russian laws. In present time the cost of this license is between 20$ and 100$.

If you study Geology, Mineralogy or Russian, we can offer you excellent opportunity to have your summer practice in the North of Russia, on the Kola Peninsula in the Khibiny mountains, close to borders with Finland and Norway.
The duration of practice is 2 weeks and more.
Accommodation: the Moscow State University ( MSU) geological center in Kirovsk.
